Community Planting with the Rockhampton Women’s Shed | Capricornia Catchments

Capricornia Catchments recently welcomed the Rockhampton Women’s Shed to our Mt Archer revegetation site for a morning of learning, community connection and practical environmental action.

The morning began with a walk around the Nurim Circuit and lookout, where our team shared information about local native plant species, the history of the site and the restoration work Capricornia Catchments has undertaken over recent years.

The group then planted 50 native plants in an area prepared by our trainees, contributing directly to the ongoing revegetation and restoration of Mt Archer.

The morning finished with lunch and an opportunity for participants to connect and reflect on the day.

Interested in getting involved? Capricornia Catchments welcomes community groups and organisations interested in participating in future planting and environmental activities. Contact us to find out more.
